i file (mp3 e testo.xml) di cui parli sono di sistema e benchè abbia i permessi root non riesco a modificare il file.xml nè a togliere la suoneria dalla cartella bootscreen, come posso procedere?

Devi rimontare la partizione system in rw...
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
oppure da pc
adb remount
per rimuovere il file poi basta rm nomefile...
Per modificare l'altro fiile invece, lo devi spostare sul pc digitando nel terminale del pc: adb pull /system/media/bootscreen .
mi raccomando il "." finale, poi usi il tuo editor di testo per modificarlo e dopo rimonti la partizione RW con uno dei due metodi sopra e pushi il file con
adb push bootscreen /system/media/
